Jack Forster – Jacob & Co. Oil Pump
A complication is usually thought of as anything other than time that provides information - for example, a tourbillon is traditionally not considered a complication per se, but a regulating device, as it does not provide additional information, but aims to Keep the watch at a closer rate. (Why tourbillons are not for classicists, but repeaters are, that may be a question for another day). However, sometimes the purpose of a complication is not so much to provide new information itself, but to put a smile on your face. So the Jacob & Co. Oil Pump is a multi-axis tourbillon watch with an automatic oil pump that beats on demand (automatic by case if I can use the term oil pump).Jacob & Co. ASTRONOMIA SOLAR BITCOIN AS310.21.AB.AA.A
Cole Pennington – FP Journe Tourbillon Souverain Vertical
A properly executed tourbillon is a rite of passage for any manufacturer eager to join the haute horlogerie bandwagon. Executing a tourbillon in a way that drives the conversation and is truly innovative is something a manufacturer like FP Journe would do. The FP Journe Tourbillon Souverain orientated the tourbillon movement in a plane perpendicular to the dial, and this small change completely changed the watch. Sure, it helps with the 13.6mm height, but what I love most about this watch is the height. In that box there is a whole mechanical world with many levels. You have to give something like a tourbillon movement some room to do what it's supposed to do. I love that the wearer can see the whole gear, springs, coils, bridges etc. through the perfect domed crystal. If it's not a tool table, and ergonomics aren't the most important thing, it's better to go all out, right? Placing the tourbillon on its side gives another dimension to the watch, which is both original and fascinating. The orientation of the tourbillon also has a functional argument.
Stephen Pulvirent – Greubel Forsey Quadruple Tourbillon GMT
I love some of my Greubel Forsey goodness. I always have. Well, at least since I first saw one of these metal high quality replica watches at Marcus in London in 2012. At the time, I had no idea what watchmaking would be like, and I still am amazed and in awe every time I see another incredible piece by Robert and Stephen. This year's standout is the Quad Tourbillon GMT watch, which combines two of the brand's superlative complications, the Earth-bearing GMT and the self-evidently crazy Quad Tourbillon. Now you no longer have to choose! The finish is excellent, the concept is absolutely insane, and you'll almost certainly never meet anyone who wears the same watch as you. Now all we have to do is let GF work on a secret quadruple tourbillon GMT...
James Stacy - Christopher Clayt Angelico
Oh, does your watch have a fuse and chain? Yep, cool, mine too. But, like, no chain...I remember seeing this watch called Christophe Claret Angelico at SIHH earlier this year and it definitely deserves a place on this list. The 5N red gold, 45.5 mm wide Angelico watch is like wearing a small domed city on your wrist, the various elements of the movement are stacked like buildings under the steep curves of the crystal. Angelico offers a double jumping hour display for local time and local time, a radial minute display with bejeweled hands, an open tourbillon display and a super cool cable fuse, which replaces a special cable made of extra strength Traditional chain Dyneema fiber. Angelico is a striking and well-known example of haute horlogerie, which is modern, creative and very fun to wear on the wrist.
Cara Barrett – Cartier Révélation d'Une Panthère
While this may not be a complication in the technical watchmaking sense, it is a watch that is complicated to make (and, in my opinion, much more interesting than a tourbillon). First released in 2018, the Cartier Révélation d'Une Panthère features small golden microbeads that float in a patented, unknown viscous liquid (very complex!). Over the past year, Cartier has replaced gold beads with diamonds, which has really added something special. Just before you say it's not complicated, think about how many times they have to test these watches to make sure they sink at the right speed.

Jon Bues – Bulgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic
Before you stop me from saying this watch isn't that complicated, consider the fact that Bulgari's Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic surpasses the undisputed chronograph book record of over three decades. This watch pairs its chronograph with a second complication in the form of GMT. Depending on who you ask, ultra-thin watchmaking can sometimes be seen almost as a complex watchmaking. One of the many things I love about this watch (there are many; check out my Week On The Wrist for more) is that it offers a true top-of-the-line complication that combines great wearability with a very compelling value proposition.replica Breitling Endurance Pro
